This collection encompasses material related to the overall administration of The New School from 1928-2008. It includes reports, financial papers, board of trustees meeting agendas and minutes, and documents prepared for accrediting by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The bulk of the files date from the late 1940s-early 1960s and the 1990s-2000s. Of note is "The New School Study" of 1952, also known as the "Swift Report."

Van Zandt, and New School Provost Tim Marshall to discuss the university response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The New School Design and Construction office is a unit of the university's Buildings department. These records include construction documents for Loeb Hall, the first residence hall owned and operated by The New School which opened in August 1989, and a campus master plan from 2004.

The New School began inputting course information into the database, Banner [banner.newschool.edu] around 2007. As of 2021, all New School course data is input into Banner through an interface called Tableau. This collection contains course data that has either been downloaded from Banner or from other New School websites. All divisions and undergraduate schools are represented, but courses for each college are not comprehensive.
