This record group documents the activities of the staff of the Raymond Fogelman Library, The New School's library for social sciences and history prior to being incorporated into the The New School Libraries & Special Collections in the 2010s. This collection consists of physical ephemera related to student protests on or around The New School's Greenwich Village, New York campus, including banners, posters, and fliers delivered to The New School Archives by university staff. Occupy Wall Street is represented, as is an iteration of the New School in Exile.
New School University Development and Alumni Relations Office records
The New School University Development and Alumni Relations Office (UDARO) records consist of financial records, auditor's reports, IRS filings, grant applications, printed materials, and a three volume project manual for the University Center building. The records also include disks and audiovisual material, including recordings of commencement ceremonies and an interview with Eugene Lang.
New School University Planning Initiatives collection
Files and a website generated between 2014–2021 documenting strategic planning efforts of the New School administration during the tenures of presidents David Van Zandt and Dwight A. McBride, including two projects that were part of the New School Service Initiative.
Parsons School of Design Centenary oral history project
The Parsons School of Design Centenary Oral History Project consists of recorded sound interviews with twelve individuals as well as two audio monologues by the project's manager, Martica Sawin. The interviews, recorded in 1994, cover the history of different academic departments and design disciplines over the course of the twentieth century as experienced by former and then-current instructors and administrators. Recordings are all in English.
Parsons School of Design handbooks and orientation materials collection
Contains handbooks and guides issued by the administration of Parsons School of Design and The New School to familiarize Parsons faculty, students, and students' families with school regulations, policies, and procedures. Also includes materials designed to acquaint students with aspects of living and studying in New York City.
