This series contains material pertaining to the instruction and design work of the Open Atelier of Design, which Zambonini helped found in 1977. Herein can be found correspondence, course descriptions, photographs and slides of student work and class sessions, as well as press clippings, flyers, posters, and brochures. Additionally, this series holds a large cache of audio recordings of the OAD Lecture Series, which featured talks by many prominent architects, designers, and artists of the 1970s and 1980s. The physical recordings are included in the collection; the audio has been digitized and is available on the New School Archives website website.

Also included in this series are drawings, sketches, plans, photographs, and slides relating to the design and construction of the second OAD studio and offices, and Zambonini's upstairs apartment, located on West 29th St. in Manhattan.
