Scope and Contents

Rebecca Blake begins by showing a film representing her work on various personal and commercial film projects. She shares her stories about her work, as well as her experiences with sexism in the world of professional photography. She then speaks on the interplay between her commercial and personal work and touches upon the business aspects of the profession, including learning how to collaborate with and manage people effectively. Workshop participants ask questions throughout.

Biographical / Historical

Rebecca Blake is a Belgian-American photographer and filmmaker. Educated at New York University, Blake's photography is included in the permanent collections of the International Center of Photography, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Mellon Collection of Surreal Art. Her print work has appeared in Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Vogue.
