Biographical / Historical
Douglas Hopkins is an American photographer raised in Alaska and Boston. Trained in physics and German literature, Hopkins photographed volcanoes at MIT’s Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences before working as a freelance photographer for Vogue, Rolling Stone, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He later served as an instructor of photography at The New School.
