The recording begins in the middle of the event. In the first of two segments, Steve Ettlinger, a picture editor, discusses the working relationship between editors and photographers, as well as the business side of the industry. He then offers several pieces of career advice. This continues into the second segment. Ettlinger concludes his presentation by sharing selections from a variety of photography publications. Workshop participants ask questions throughout.

Biographical / Historical
Steve Ettlinger is a photographer, author, book editor and producer who taught at The New School. Ettlinger worked for Magnum photo agency and GEO magazine before turning to book publishing in 1985. He has produced several dozen books, mainly in the area of culinary arts.
