Photographs relating to the Mannes family--David, Clara, and their son, Leopold--can be found in this series. The section featuring David and Clara Mannes features photographs of them together and individually, as well as a number of images of them performing with various ensembles, including David conducting the Mannes Orchestra at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1938.

Additionally, this series contains several promotional photographs of quartets inscribed to "Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Pretzfeld." The archivist has been unable to determine the identity of the Pretzfelds, as well as their relation to the Mannes family and school--however, due to the dates and nature of the items, they have been included here.
