Series 4. MFA Fashion Design and Society, 2010-2020

 Series

Scope and Contents

This series documents the MFA in Fashion Design and Society in its first decade, primarily through video and print publications featuring graduating student work. Shelley Fox was the founding director of the program, which was launched in 2010, and stepped down from this role at the conclusion of the Fall 2021 semester. The bulk of the records in this series were transferred directly from Professor Fox to The New School Archives.

Each year, candidates in the program had the opportunity to present their work at a show during New York Fashion Week. Included in this series are videos of these shows.

The New School Archives is preserving the digital version of the fashion periodical 1 Granary through its Web Archive Collection. 1 Granary is a publication of Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design in London, which has featured the work of Parsons MFA Design and Society students. The series also includes print versions of this periodical.
