This series contains records created, received by, or assembled by the academic dean at Parsons School of Design. The deans during the period covered were, in chronological order, Norman Boothby, Francis A. Ruzicka (prior to his appointment as president), and George Bayliss.

The records in this series primarily consist of correspondence with students, prospective students, faculty, administrators, and peer institutions. In many cases, copies of the outgoing letter is included with the received correspondence. Most of this material pertains to student statuses, grades, and disciplinary action as well as faculty contracts and requests.
