Scope and Contents

The collection consists of notebooks Cleora Clark Wheeler kept for recording lectures and of bookplates and greeting cards she designed. Wheeler began recording lectures by Frank Alvah Parsons on art history and interior decoration in October 1912. According to documentation provided with the donation, New York School of Fine and Applied Art students and the general public attended the lectures. Because of Parsons' popularity as a speaker, the lectures were held in an assembly hall provided by a "trust company" to accomodate the large audience.

The bookplates are annotated by Wheeler with date and subject matter depicted. The collection also includes two greeting cards and a small pamphlet advertising her studio.
