Historical note

The Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research offered interdisciplinary study of political economy in classical and Marxian versions. The Committee on Political Economy was formed to give students the tools to integrate the distinct disciplinary approaches of politics and economics to study and analyze social behavior. By the 1993-1994 academic year, Alice H. Amsden served as chairperson of the committee. Faculty members on the committee included David M. Gordon, Ira Katznelson, James A. Krauskopf, Edward J. Nell, David Plotke, Lance Taylor, and Charles Tilly. __
