Abstract

The Galimir Quartet was a string ensemble originally founded by Austrian siblings Felix, Adrienne, Renée, and Marguerite Galimir in 1927, but disbanded when they fled Austria in 1936. Brother Felix (1910-1999) re-established the Galimir Quartet in the United States in 1938 with new players, eventually taking residency at Mannes College of Music. The collection consists of published scores with annotations and markings.
