Abstract
The Galimir Quartet was a string ensemble originally founded by Austrian siblings Felix, Adrienne, Renée, and Marguerite Galimir in 1927, but disbanded when they fled Austria in 1936. Brother Felix (1910-1999) re-established the Galimir Quartet in the United States in 1938 with new players, eventually taking residency at Mannes College of Music.
