A note from the Foreword describes the project and the subsequent publication:

This book results from our third dinner party held at Governor's Island in New York during Earth Day celebrations in the Spring of 2024. [This] endeavor started in the Spring of 2022 as a group of workshops and a symposium around food and waste . . . This third iteration focused on food systems, food ecologies, regenerative material practices, local processes, and Indigeous knowledge. The students came from two classes, an elective, Decolonized and Decarbonized Dinner Party and the studio, Interior Food Ecologies.

Textual documentation and original clothing designs based on “Inuit people” and “Nanook of the North” by students Alexandra Parkin and Tess Lindgrew. Also includes a small book on the iconography of the courtesan in Japanese Okiyo-e prints by Bach Mai.

Fashion designs based on modern interpretations of the styles of defunct fashion houses such as Tommy Nutter, Ossie Clark, and Boy London. Includes work by students Dylan Paul Moran Taverner, Angela Brugioni, Lauden Davis, Phume Mthimunye, David Wendel, Ryan O’Connor, Gilda Su, and more.

Contains detailed notes and sketches that reflect on students Matt Conway and Brian Suter-Maury’s experiences during class visits to local exhibitions between the spring semester of 2009 and the fall of 2010.
