Summary

After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 1945, Margaret Hodge became director of fashion marketing at Vogue, and in 1967 formed her own fashion publicity firm. Hodge led various marketing campaigns integrating the fashion of Hollywood films. The collection mainly consists of Hollywood promotional material, including publicity photographs, press kits, announcements and tear sheets. Most of the material was produced from 1962 to 1976.

Margaret McKay Tee papers

Abstract

Margaret McKay Tee (1882-1955) came to New York from Cripple Creek, Colorado in 1902 to attend Cooper Union. Frank Alvah Parsons later hired Tee as a student instructor at the New York School of Art. After returning to Colorado, Tee carried on a correspondence with Parsons. Tee's papers include letters from Parsons, photographs of Tee's paintings, and an autobiographical essay relating Tee’s upbringing and her experiences as a young art student.

Margaret Schmid Hartelius student work

Summary

Consists of two illustrations completed by Margaret Schmid (1922-2001) for an advertising design course at Parsons School of Design. After graduating in 1947. Schmid, whose name changed when she married Paul Hartelius, Jr., went on to a successful fifty-year career as an illustrator and children's book author.

Margery S. Knight sketchbooks

Marietta Gazzaniga musical excerpts scrapbook

Summary

A scrapbook of musical excerpts kept by opera singer Marietta Gazzaniga (1824-1884), who toured the United States and Cuba in the mid-nineteenth century. The Italian soprano compiled autographs, letters, and poems from major nineteenth century Italian composers and other music personalities, notably Giuseppe Verdi, into the bound volume, which spans almost forty years.
