The New Yorker at The New School was a special lecture series held at The New School in the two consecutive Fall semesters of 1989 and 1990. The series featured lectures, discussions and readings with contributors from The New Yorker, a storied and long running American magazine. The collection consists of audio recordings.

The New School Graduate Faculty established the East and Central Europe Program in 1990, expanding to become the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (TCDS) in 1997, to foster dialogue on democratic theory and practice in East and Central Europe, Central America and southern Africa, among other regions. The collection documents the center’s events, seminars, workshops, and conferences. Also includes research and course files of TCDS founder, Elzbieta Matynia.

Worlds of Knowledge: Great Conversations was a special lecture series held at The New School in two consecutive Fall semesters in 1990 and 1991. The collection consists of audio recordings of public conversations between political scientist and New School professor Ralph Buultjens and a series of seven writers, scholars and public figures, held during the Fall 1990 semester.
