Democracy Seminar oral history project
Independent study oral history project on New School history
This oral history project consists of six audio interviews conducted by New School for Public Engagement student Gerard O. Hemmerle as an independent study under the supervision of Professor Julia L. Foulkes during the Spring 2013 semester. Interviewees consist of long-serving university faculty and staff, primarily associated with what was known as the New School for Public Engagement. Recordings are all in English.
"Justus Rosenberg: A Life in Translation" independent oral history project
Scott Ritner, a graduate student of The New School for Social Research, conducted this series of oral history interviews with New School faculty member Justus Rosenberg in 2012. Rosenberg (born 1921 in Danzig) took part in the French Resistance during World War II, immigrated to the United States, and taught at The New School for over fifty years. The collection consists of a transcript and an event flier as electronic files.
Larry Freund interviews with Esther Hoffman
This collection consists of transcripts of seventeen interviews with Esther Hoffman Wexler (1918-2014), conducted by her cousin, Lawrence Freund, between 2012 and 2014. Hoffman, a Canadian-born concert pianist and a longtime piano teacher at the Mannes College of Music (which became a division of The New School in 1989), discusses her life experiences and her career as a musician and as a teacher in New York City and Toronto.
Michael Kalil oral history project
The Michael Kalil Oral History Project consists of audio interviews with colleagues, collaborators, and friends of interior designer Michael Kalil (1943-1991). Jean Gardner, Karyn Issa Ginsberg, and Marty Speigel discuss Kalil's education, career, and ideas with project archivist Jennifer Larson. Kalil's work—incorporating diverse principles of architecture and philosophy—was considered by many to be revolutionary in the 1970s and 1980s.

New School Office of the President Laserfiche files
The New School Office of the President laserfiche files were created by the Process Improvement Office at The New School in 2014-2015. The collection consists primarily of electronic files dating from the New School presidencies of Jonathan F. Fanton and Bob Kerrey, including remarks by New School officers and others. A large portion of the files comprise photographs from events hosted by the New School President and Board of Trustees.

Parsons School of Design Centenary oral history project
The Parsons School of Design Centenary Oral History Project consists of recorded sound interviews with twelve individuals as well as two audio monologues by the project's manager, Martica Sawin. The interviews, recorded in 1994, cover the history of different academic departments and design disciplines over the course of the twentieth century as experienced by former and then-current instructors and administrators. Recordings are all in English.
