Abstract

Worlds of Knowledge: Great Conversations was a special lecture series held at The New School in two consecutive Fall semesters in 1990 and 1991. The collection consists of audio recordings of public conversations between political scientist and New School professor Ralph Buultjens and a series of seven writers, scholars and public figures, held during the Fall 1990 semester.

Description

In 1982, the Guitar Study Center became a part of The New School’s Adult Division, and began offering certificate programs in guitar and in audio engineering in 1984. In 1986, Fred Winston took over from Edward Simon as director. That same year, the New School established the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, which cooperated closely with the Guitar Study Center, often sharing facilities and staff but maintaining separate administrative structures.
