Folder contains a cover letter from William H. Davis, chair of the New School for Social Research Board of Trustees, along with a 25-page formal proposal to the foundation requesting $1 million to fund an eight-story building at 63-69 West 11th Street, to be known as the Wollman Memorial Building. The proposal includes background about the mission and growth of The New School, details on the capital program raising funds for the expansion of the original 66 West 12th Street campus building, and background about the architectural firm Mayer & Whittlsey. There is no documentation in the file regarding the large room that would eventually be named Wollmann Hall.
