Scope and Contents
This collection contains materials documenting art history courses Laura Auricchio taught at Parsons School of Design, 2003-2018, as well as records from her administrator roles at The New School, 2011-2019. The entire collection consists of electronic files.
Series I. Administration mainly consists of Schools of Public Engagement records, 2011-2015, corresponding to the time Auricchio served as its chair of humanities, and as dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies (SUS). The SUS at the time was made up of the Adult Bachelor’s Program, TIPS (Thematic Interdivisional Programs in the Division), Foreign Languages, and ESL (English as a Second Language), according to a 2013 document in these files. Files relate to enrollment, curriculum, programs, SUS Chairs' meetings, and include brochures as well as reports carried out by outside consultants. One particularly well-documented program within these files is Cohort 21.
Series II. Course materials typically contain syllabi, PowerPoint presentations, and course assignments. Several classes were co-taught with other professors. There are also several syllabi for courses not taught by Auricchio.
Series III. Events relate to symposia, lectures and events Auricchio organized at The New School, 2009-2013, including the first Parsons Faculty Book Fair, 2010.
Series IV. Faculty materials contain policies and guidelines for teaching and course management, distributed to Eugene Lang College faculty, 2013-2016, and Schools of Public Engagement faculty, 2012-2013. A Parsons faculty folder contains faculty evaluations of Auricchio, 2005-2006.
Series V. Handbooks are student handbooks from the MA Program in the History of Decorative Arts and Design, 2009-2010.
Series VI. Parsons Executive Dean search materials, 2018-2019, lightly document that search process. Auricchio, vice provost at the time, was co-chair of the search committee.
Series VII. Tenure and promotion dossier contain Auricchio's tenure dossier, 2010, and application materials for her promotion to full professor, 2015.

Processing Information
Titles of series and files in this finding aid reflect Auricchio's folder titles, but some words have been capitalized, or abbreviations spelled out, to make them more legible. Any lowercase titles, underscores, or unusual spacing in this finding aid reflect original file titles or titles that were normalized upon ingest.
Dates of materials in this finding aid, and in the spreadsheet with the complete list of files, correspond to the last modified date of files. A last modified date of July 2019 refers to the inadvertent modification of files upon their transfer to the archives.
About one third of the files originally transferred by Auricchio were deaccessioned during processing. These were typically scans of course readings, individual images used in PowerPoint presentations, generic forms such as course reserve forms, student records that required lengthy restrictions, and course catalogs already held by the archives.
