The panel consists of five photographers currently featured in an exhibition at SoHo Photo. Jim Sheldon leads the discussion and participants show slides from their travels in Afghanistan, telling the story behind each photograph. The five speakers (in speaking order) are Jacques Charlas, Jim Sheldon, Gianfranco Gorgoni, Lauren Stockbower, Steve McCurry, and an unidentified presenter, referred to as Ross (possibly Ross Baughman). In the first of two segments, Dmitri Baltermants discusses the history of photography, theories about photography, and the relationship between photography and painting. At around the 23 minute mark, the recording breaks off, then begins again later in Baltermants's lecture, at which point he is showing slides. In the second segment, Baltermants presents slides of his work and shares experiences of photographing Russian soldiers fighting Germans during World War II. During the question and answer session that follows, Baltermants has a tense exchange with an audience member who asks about his experience working in a closed Soviet society. At the end of the recording the host of the event introduces Michael Brand(?) from Citizens Exchange, who organized Baltermants's trip from the Soviet Union to the United States.

The recording begins mid-event. In the first of two segments, Ross Baughman's discusses his career and his approach to photojournalism. The bulk of the presentation consists of a slideshow of Baughman's work, during which he relays his experiences working with gangs in Los Angeles, with the Ku Klux Klan, as well as doing editorial work for magazines. During the second segment, Baughman touches upon the ethics of protecting the anonymity of photographic subjects. He invites feedback from audience members, who ask questions throughout. Towards the end he tries a "journalistic experiment" by asking an audience member to narrate his slideshow from the beginning. The recording ends while the event is still in process.
