Scope and Contents
Contact sheets (8 1/2 x 11 in) and film negatives (35mm) documenting events and classes at The New School, circa 1986-1994. Most are labeled with event and date information, as well as with Geller-Geld's own job numbers. Events include performances, lectures, panel discussions, and more. Classroom scenes show students working on art and design projects, in music classes, and sitting in lecture-style classes. There are some images of students in other settings, such as in the library. There are several prints (8 1/2 x 11 in) of individual photographs. Some negatives do not have corresponding contact sheets or prints.

Biographical Note
Bonnie Geller-Geld is a freelance photographer based in New York. During the period represented by this collection, The New School, along with a number of other organizations, hired her on commission to photograph events and activities. She also worked on assignment with the New York Times, the New York Post, PBS (Public Broadcasting System), and other media companies.
Geller-Geld has studied at the University of California, Berkeley; the University of California, Los Angeles; The City College of New York; and the Germain School of Photography. After 20 years of freelance photography work, she began teaching photography, English, and multimedia studies at the college and high school level. She retired in 2012. Since 1977, her work has been featured in 27 solo and group shows, largely in New York galleries.
